Four civilians, mostly of the same family, were killed on Monday, the first day of Eid al-Fitr, and others were injured, following an armed attack carried out by pro-Assad assailants in the coastal Tartus region, northwestern Syria.
Local sources told Zaman al-Wasl that the victims included the mayor of the town of Harf Bin Namirah, Jawdat Fares, along with Ibrahim Shaheen, Thaer Shaheen, and Najdat Shaheen, Soumar Shaheen and Mohamed Shaheen were also injured.
Following the attack of Baniyas countryside, the town witnessed a heavy security deployment. It remains unclear who was responsible for the attack, with remnants of the Bashar al-Assad regime being blamed for the operation.
