In a significant step toward enhancing security and stability in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, the General Security Forces of the Syrian Ministry of Interior, in conjunction with the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration, have begun deploying at joint checkpoints in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo, in northern Syria. This is in implementation of the agreement concluded between the two parties two weeks ago.
The agreement includes the opening of roads leading to the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods, which will facilitate the movement of residents and revitalize civilian life in the area.
A number of detainees held by both sides were also mutually released a few days ago as part of the agreement, indicating both sides' commitment to its implementation.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) also fully withdrew their forces from the Tishrin Dam east of the Euphrates River, reflecting a desire to ease military tensions and pave the way for a new phase of coordination and understanding.
