Christian denominations in Damascus, both Western and Eastern, celebrated Palm Sunday, the commemoration of the entry of Jesus Christ, the Messenger of Love and Peace, into Jerusalem. Masses and prayers were held on this occasion, presided over by Their Beatitudes the Patriarchs and Metropolitans.
Their Beatitudes delivered sermons, praying to God Almighty to protect Syria and its people, and for peace and love to prevail throughout the country.
The speeches emphasized the need for Syrians to unite at this crucial stage and stand by their country, contributing to enhancing security, stability, and reconstruction, leading to the new Syria that all Syrians aspire to.
Following the masses and prayers, church scout groups played hymns and songs commemorating the occasion. Activities were also held, and sweets were distributed to children.
