Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa traveled to Qatar on Tuesday on an official visit, accompanied by a high-level government delegation.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani tweeted: "Today we accompany His Excellency President Ahmad al-Sharaa on his first presidential visit to a country that has stood by the Syrians since day one and has never abandoned them."

Al-Shaibani's visit to Qatar is his sixth since assuming the presidency, following previous visits to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt.

Diplomatic Activities

This week, the Syrian president made two official visits to Turkey and the UAE. He participated in the fourth edition of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum at the head of an official delegation that included his wife Latifa al-Droubi and Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.

The Syrian issue was a prominent topic of the forum, with significant media attention given to President al-Shara'a's presence. He held a series of bilateral meetings with regional and international leaders and officials.

Among the most prominent of these meetings was his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in addition to a meeting with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, where the two sides discussed developments in Syria and the region.

On Sunday, President Al-Shara arrived in the UAE, where he met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of a number of senior ministers and officials from both countries.

The Emirates News Agency reported that President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed with the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed Al-Shara, the fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to enhance their joint cooperation.

The two sides reviewed a number of issues and topics of mutual interest and exchanged views on them.

The statement explained that the meeting addressed developments in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, noting the UAE's commitment to "supporting our brothers in Syria to confront the challenges of the transitional phase and rebuilding Syria to meet the aspirations of its people for a future of security, stability, and prosperity."
