In a painful testimony, Heba reveals how the former Syrian ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdul Karim, destroyed her family's life in two stages.
It all began in the 1980s, when her father was forced to resign from his post at gunpoint, leading to the collapse of his family.
Years later, the tragedy repeated itself when her husband, Mohammad Al-Ashqar, was arbitrarily dismissed from his job at the Syrian embassy in Beirut during Ambassador Ali Abdul Karim's tenure there, after refusing to carry out illegal orders in 2019.
Heba speaks of the explicit threats she received from influential figures and the denial of her basic rights. She notes that her family now lives below the poverty line, with her daughter at risk of being expelled from school, amidst complete disregard from official authorities.
Heba concludes with an appeal to President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, demanding the return of her husband's moral and financial rights and the reinstatement of his job.
