Public Security Forces found quantities of weapons and ammunition hidden near the town of Busra al-Sham in the southern Daraa Governorate, Daraa 24 reported on Tuesday.
The weapons were discovered north of the city, buried under soil in an agricultural area. They were later confiscated and transferred to designated storage sites by the relevant authorities.
This development comes as part of a security campaign launched by the Public Security Directorate in the northern Daraa countryside a few days ago. The campaign aims to pursue wanted individuals and seize illicit weapons, as part of efforts to consolidate state authority, enhance stability, and restrict the possession of weapons to official institutions.
Local sources confirmed that the operation was carried out with great precision and reflects a development in security intelligence work. They indicated that investigations are still ongoing to determine who is responsible for storing these weapons and their potential targets.
