The Ashrafieh Sahnaya area, south of the capital Damascus, witnessed a dangerous security escalation, with the death toll of General Security personnel rising to 16 as a result of attacks carried out by "outlaw" armed groups.
Security sources told Zaman al-Wasl that these groups thwarted several ceasefire attempts, leading to continued clashes in the area.
In this context, General Security forces, supported by armored vehicles, began a large-scale sweep inside Ashrafieh Sahnaya with the aim of eliminating the armed groups and restoring security.
