The Director of Public Security in the Damascus countryside announced the end of the security operation in Ashrafieh Sahnaya, with security restored and some of those involved arrested.
This came after clashes erupted following an attack by Druze gunmen on a security checkpoint, resulting in the deaths of Syrian security personnel.
The city of Jaramana and the Sahnaya area witnessed clashes between Syrian fighters and Druze gunmen over an audio recording attributed to a Druze man insulting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with the defense and foreign ministers, and security officials, held a meeting to discuss developments in Syria.
Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes on Sahnaya in the Damascus countryside and its outskirts, killing a Syrian security member.
Meanwhile, Syrian Shaheen drones flew over Sahnaya and Jaramana, with one targeting gunmen in Sahnaya.
