Four Druze civilians were killed Friday afternoon in an airstrike carried out by an Israeli drone that targeted a residential farm also used for livestock in the Kanaker area, located on the western outskirts of the city of Sweida in southern Syria.
According to local sources, the airstrike resulted in the deaths of four people, all civilians from the Druze community. There is no information available as to whether they belonged to any armed group.
This attack comes amid escalating security tensions in southern Syria, particularly following bloody clashes in areas of the Damascus countryside and Sweida between Syrian security forces and armed groups described as "outlaws," in addition to repeated Israeli interventions through airstrikes targeting sites around the capital, Damascus.
Last Wednesday, an Israeli drone carried out an airstrike targeting a military gathering in the Ashrafieh Sahnaya area of the Damascus countryside, killing a member of the Syrian Ministry of Defense and wounding others, according to official Syrian sources.
These raids are part of a series of military operations carried out by Israel within Syrian territory, often targeting military sites, amid escalating regional tensions.
