Kurds leader: We are open to Turkey and Damascus in dialogue guarantees political decentralization

The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, expressed his willingness to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, confirming direct contact with Ankara.

Abdi indicated that his Kurdish-led forces are open to dialogue with Damascus within the framework of "political decentralization," and he believed that the process of integrating the SDF into the Syrian military establishment could take years.

Abdi explained that the SDF rejects quick or superficial solutions that do not address the essence of the Kurdish issue and is seeking a formula that ensures its forces remain an organized force within an agreed-upon national structure.

He emphasized that the integration of the SDF must take place within a comprehensive political agreement that recognizes decentralization and the rights of the components of northeastern Syria.

Abdi emphasized the SDF's commitment to its gains, emphasizing that it will not accept any arrangements that would return it to square one.
