The Syrian Civil Defense announced that two unidentified individuals were killed this morning, following a direct attack by an unknown drone on the motorcycle they were riding on the Sarmada-Bardaqli road in the northern Idlib countryside.
According to a statement issued by the Civil Defense, its teams rushed to the site immediately after the attack and confirmed the two individuals' immediate death as a result of the shelling, with no other injuries reported.
The statement added that civilians in the area recovered the bodies of the two victims and transported them to the hospital, while teams worked to secure the site and ensure it was free of any additional threats.
The identities of the two victims are not yet known, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which comes in the context of a series of similar attacks in the area recently.
It is worth noting that the northern Idlib countryside has witnessed an escalation in drone strikes for some time, often targeting individuals suspected of belonging to armed groups.
