In a new wave of assassinations sweeping the southern Syrian province of Daraa, activists Abdul Rahman al-Hariri and Muhammad Abdul Hamid al-Jarabah were killed on Tuesday in a shooting attack by unknown assailants on the road between the towns of al-Soura and al-Harak in the eastern Daraa countryside.
Local correspondents reported that unknown gunmen opened fire on the car carrying al-Hariri and al-Jarabah, killing them instantly. Their bodies were transported to al-Harak Hospital. Both victims hailed from the town of al-Soura.
Al-Hariri is known for his prominent social media activity, posting videos harshly criticizing the deteriorating security situation in the province and directly accusing parties involved in drug trafficking and distribution, which he considers a scourge threatening the local community.
