Rebels kill 30 soldiers in Hama countryside


HAMA (Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian rebels have killed more than 30 troops of regime army and its loyal militias of National Defence Units and Lebanese Hezbollah movement in the northern countryside of Hama province, activists and opposition media reported on Friday.

Hama Media Center said rebels of Morek had captured a military base on Thursday. In response, regime forces have retaliated by heavy shelling and aerial bombardment.

The Tanks Battalion near Morek considers as one of regime's strategic strongholds in northern Hama, according to activist Suhail al-Ali.

Al-Qaeda wing in Syria, Nusra Front and Free Syrian Army fighters in the northern countryside of Hama have launched sudden attacks on Bashar al-Assad’s forces backed by Hezbollah and National Defence militia near Morek town.

Al-Ali says the fighting is still ongoing amid the heroic resistant by rebels.

Clashes in Hama Front have sparked after long calm between Assad's forces and rebels in the historic province which had witnessed bloody clashes and memorable protests at the beginning of Syrian uprising in 2011.

Meanwhile, more than 191,000 people killed and over 9million forced to flee their homes.
