The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its full solidarity with the State of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the face of the Iranian missile attack that targeted the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday evening.
In an official statement, the ministry affirmed that Syria strongly condemns any hostile acts that threaten Gulf security, considering the security of the Gulf Arab states an integral part of Syrian national security. It also emphasized its commitment to "the principles of Arab solidarity in confronting threats."
Syria's position comes after Qatar announced that its air defenses had intercepted the attack without any casualties. Qatar described the incident as a "flagrant violation of its sovereignty," while affirming its right to respond in accordance with international law.
Iran announced the attack as part of Operation "Bashaer Al-Fatah," in response to the US targeting of its nuclear facilities early Sunday morning.
