US President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Monday related to the easing of sanctions on Syria, a CBS reporter posted on X on Monday.
In May, Trump announced he would lift sanctions on Syria as part of measures to help the country rebuild after a devastating civil war.
The announcement was made during visit in Saudi Arabia.
The day after his announcement, Trump met with al-Sharaa in Riyadh in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The US then officially issued a sanctions waiver for Syria.
