In a significant step toward achieving justice, former detainee and Secretary of the Council of Detainees, Marwan al-Ash, met with lawyer Haitham al-Maleh, a former judge, to discuss the possibility of prosecuting judges of the Field Court and the Terrorism Court.
The meeting emphasized the need for families of detainees and missing persons to immediately file personal complaints with the Public Prosecutor of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Judicial Inspection Department in Damascus and the governorates.
This call aims to prosecute judges of the Terrorism Court and the Field Court on charges of complicity in the crimes of torture, murder, and death of detainees, both men and women, and missing persons from 2011 until the fall of the deposed regime. The meeting affirms that these judges are accomplices, perpetrators, and facilitators of the detention, torture, and execution of more than 100,000 detainees in Sednaya Prison, who went missing after arrest warrants were issued for the Field Court.
This initiative demands the abolition of all rulings and provisions of the Field and Terrorism Courts, and the arrest and imprisonment of anyone proven to have participated in or collaborated with the security and intelligence services of the deposed regime.
This is an appeal to all families and relatives of detainees, missing persons, and eyewitnesses of surviving detainees to file personal complaints with the Public Prosecution Office at the Ministry of Justice/Judicial Palace in Mezzeh.
