International coalition refuses to join SDF in Badia campaign against ISIS

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) denied reports circulating about its preparations to launch a campaign against ISIS remnants in the Badia desert, claiming that its recent movements are "within the usual framework."

The Kurdish-led militia affirmed its "permanent readiness" to participate in any national or international effort to combat the group, and that any operation would be announced through official platforms.

However, informed sources told Zaman al-Wasl that the international coalition has not requested the SDF to participate in any upcoming operations against ISIS in the Badia desert. On the contrary, the militia submitted an official request to participate, but its request was rejected.

This denial comes after media figures close to the SDF promoted what they described as an imminent campaign coordinated by the militia with the coalition, in an attempt to rehabilitate its image following increasing reports of Arab fighters deserting its ranks and escalating violations in areas under its control.
