The Syrian government announced on Wednesday its welcome of any path that would strengthen the unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, affirming its commitment to the principle of "One Syria, One Army, One Government" and its categorical rejection of any form of partition or federalism.
An official statement carried by the SANA news agency stated that the government welcomes the progress in implementing the agreement signed with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and appreciates the American efforts exerted in this regard, in line with the preservation of the country's stability and the unity of its people.
The statement affirmed that the Syrian army is the unifying national institution, while welcoming the inclusion of Syrian fighters from the SDF within its ranks, within legal and constitutional frameworks. It also emphasized the necessity of the return of official state institutions to the northeastern regions of the country to ensure the provision of basic services and enhance stability.
The government warned that delaying the implementation of the agreement does not serve the national interest, considering that "relying on separatist projects or foreign agendas is a losing bet," calling for a return to national identity and engagement in the project of a unified Syrian state.
She also stressed that "the Kurdish component was and remains an integral part of the Syrian fabric," and that the rights of all citizens are protected within state institutions. She reiterated her call for unified ranks and joint action for a unified, independent, and sovereign Syria.
