Reporting by Orwa  Sousi;  Translation by Yusra Ahmed

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Local activists of the coastal city of Jeblah reported daily arresting and brutal abuses for Sunni sect by National Defense militia.

The Phoenician city with Sunni aborigines, has suffered countless assaults by Bashar al-Assad fellow sect Alawite militants since the revolution erupted in March 2011.

Jebleh city was one of the first Syrian cities to join the Syrian revolution, but demonstrations were severely suppressed.

The last arrests included women and children. “Abu Sami, 90 years old, was arrested without any consideration for his age” activists reported.

Moreover, 8 people were abducted by the National Defense militias to blackmail their parents, beside robbery and looting.

The sport center in the city was turned into a detention and torturing centre by the National Defense militias without any official objection.

Pro-opposition Facebook page, SANA Jebleh, reported that National Defense Units led by Ayat Barakat, arrested people hysterically without any consideration to their circumstances, with robbing people’s houses, stores and cars, under protection of regime’s security forces.

The Facebook page mentioned that civil peace has been threatened, and they think that National Defense Militias aim to force people to leave the city and change the demographic structure of it.

A source from the city said that National Defense Units falsely claimed that arms store was found to justify their mad arresting campaign, and to cover their real reasons.
