Zaman Al-Wasl to publish 43 documents reveal fate of 90 detainees buried in mass graves

Zaman al-Wasl obtained copies of 43 security documents issued by the Military Intelligence Division – Unit 215. These documents include official correspondence addressed to Harasta Military Hospital (Medical Services Department), requesting the return of the bodies of detainees who died under torture and whose fates had been concealed for years.

The documents reveal the fate of more than 90 detainees, including Syrians, Palestinians, Jordanians, and Tunisians. Their bodies were delivered to the hospital in batches, with explicit orders to bury them without informing their families.

Each document begins with the phrase: "We send you the bodies of the following detainees." Signed by officers in the Intelligence Division, it demonstrates official and direct coordination with the Medical Services Department, reflecting the systematic and institutionalized nature of the killings and disappearances.

After completing the verification and documentation phase, Zaman al-Wasl will begin publishing these documents, at a rate of ten per week, as part of the "I am the Detainee" file. It will endeavor to communicate with the victims' families and, to the extent possible, attach a photo of the victim and information about their detention to each document. The first publication will be at 10:00 PM on Thursday (Damascus time), and will include the first 10 documents confirming the liquidation of more than 30 detainees, including several residents of Yarmouk Camp.
