Assad sacks top Intelligence officer in Homs due to school bombing


(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime president has sacked two officers in the Military Intelligence in Homs, in response to the school bombing fallout days ago, activists said.

Brigadier Abdul Karim al-Salloum, head the military Intelligence with the head security committee in war-torn city were dismissed in response to the mounting demands by members of Alawite sect who took to the streets of Homs to protest the horrific twin bombing at the elementary school.

The explosion which took place 9 days ago in Akrama neighborhood, predominantly by Alawites, resulted in death of 31 people, mostly children, and wounded 74 others.

According to Al Arabiya, the protest was the first of its kind by members of the Alawite sect from which Bashar al-Assad draw staunch support since the 2011 uprising against his rule.
