Four civilians were killed and five injured in an explosion at an ammunition depot near the city of Idlib, northwestern Syria, the Syrian Ministry of Health announced Thursday.
Local sources told Zaman al-Wasl that the explosion was caused by the detonation of an ammunition depot near the city's neighborhoods. They explained that the explosion occurred in two stages, scattering cluster bombs and bullets throughout the site.
A number of civilians were killed last July as a result of the explosion of several ammunition depots near the towns of Kafraya and al-Fu'ah, and around the city of Maarat Misrin in the northern Idlib countryside.
