Sweida: Three mosques vandalized, Imam says

Muhammad Aqla al-Badah, the imam of the Omar ibn al-Khattab Mosque in the Druze-majority city of Sweida, confirmed that the mosque was attacked and vandalized following the withdrawal of the Internal Security Forces and the army from the city.

Badah explained that the al-Harbi neighborhood mosque was also shelled with medium weapons, in addition to vandalism and looting.

Zaman al-Wasl obtained a video clip of the al-Harbi Mosque dated July 17, 2025, showing the extent of the damage. This was the same day that the Great Mosque of Sweida was subjected to gunfire, vandalism, and looting, in what was described as a "systematic attack" that targeted at least three mosques in the city.
