Zaman al-Wasl obtained a copy of an official document issued by the Intelligence Directorate on September 3, 2018, revealing that the former regime sent the bodies of detainees who died under torture to Harasta Military Hospital, with clear instructions prohibiting their release to their families.
The document, stamped with the Intelligence Directorate's Unit 215 seal, included the names of three victims:
- Mohamed Ahmad Hassan
- Abdullah Ayed al-Jassem
- Samir Abdul-Moein Baylan
The document explained that the victims were detained by Unit 215, one of the most notorious security branches with a bloody record of torture and systematic killing.
The letter addressed to the Military Medical Services Administration concluded: "Please accept the bodies and do not keep them or release them to their families." This reveals a deliberate policy based on depriving families of the opportunity to bid farewell to their loved ones and bury them properly, while keeping their fates unknown even after their deaths.
