The General Organization for Cement and Building Materials (Omran) signed a strategic agreement with the Saudi Northern Cement Group to strengthen the Syrian cement sector. This agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding previously signed during the Syrian-Saudi Investment Conference.
According to a news item published by the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry on its official Facebook page late Thursday evening, the contract, which was signed on the sidelines of the ENTERCEM 2025 conference in Istanbul, stipulates the training and qualification of 40 engineers and technicians at the Adra plant.
It also includes supervision of operations and laboratories, development of production processes, cost reduction, and the production of new cement varieties and the import of clinker. The implementation period is expected to extend to 120 days.
The Ministry of Economy reported that the ENTERCEM 2025 conference in Istanbul, considered one of the most important international forums for the cement industry, witnessed the participation of approximately 500 experts and specialists from around the world. Eng.
