Opposition Members re-elect Ahmad To'meh as Head of Interim government

ISTANBUL (Zaman Al Wasl)- Members of Syrian Opposition’s National Coalition have reelected Ahmed To'meh by majority of the votes to head the Interim Government for a second mandate after 6 days of red-hot meetings in Istanbul.

To'meh gripped on his post due to the Turkish-Qatari consensus, Zaman al-Wasl source said.

The source revealed that officials from Qatar and Turkey have agreed on To'meh, when the closed-doors accords leaned at Ghassan Hito.

Tomeh reaped 63 votes of 65 as his rival candidate, Mohamed Najjar,  got one vote, and the last was blank paper.

Coalition's political commission dismissed To'meh government on July 23 over series of critics related to sheepish performance. But the regional influence appeared to be main backer of former Imam and dentist, observers say.

After almost two years of founding the Coalition in Qatar, in November 2012, the gulf Arab state has been remarked as the big ally to NC as well the decision maker, according to rivals.

Analysts say the conflict of interest among the opposition figures pushed the regional powers to intervene to solve disputes.

NC meetings came along with another Coalition led by U.S. against jihadist in Syria, especially in border city of Kobani.

The U.N. says more than 190,000 people have been killed since the start of Syria's uprising against President Bashar Assad in March 2011.
