Suwaida: Displaced tribesmen call for justice, right of return

The displaced tribesmen of Suwaida province issued a historic statement declaring: "We, the displaced tribesmen of Jabal al-Arab, declare with one voice: Returning to our homes is not a choice, but our inevitable destiny. We will return to our lands, our homes, and our farms, which we inherited from our ancestors, no matter how long it takes or how numerous the challenges."

The statement, signed "The Displaced Tribesmen of Jabal al-Arab," emphasized several key points:

The statement noted that "more than four months have passed since the detention of hundreds of our sons and daughters, women, children, and the elderly. The crimes are documented, the names are known, and we will not allow justice to be ignored or for the perpetrators to escape punishment."

The statement warned against continued attempts to violate the ceasefire, asserting that "the militias responsible for these violations prove daily their untrustworthiness and expose themselves through their brutal practices against unarmed civilians."

The statement addressed a message of reassurance to the people of Suwaida, emphasizing that "the difference is clear between the true sons of Suwaida and these sectarian militias. We know that you are partners in suffering and partners in hope."

The statement affirmed that "the future belongs only to the honorable people of Suwaida, and that crimes will not go unpunished, while the door will remain open to all whose hands are not stained with the blood of innocents."

The statement concluded by affirming that "victory is inevitable, return is certain, and justice will prevail, God willing."
