The Ministry of Health announced Monday the death of a young man and his mother, and the injury of eight civilians, including a boy and a girl, in addition to two Civil Defense members, as a result of shelling by the Kurdish-led SDF militia that targeted a residential area near al-Razi Hospital in Aleppo.
In a statement, the Ministry explained that all the injured were treated and transferred to hospitals to receive the necessary medical care. It added that medical teams are continuously monitoring their health conditions given the ongoing situation in the city.
The Ministry emphasized that the shelling targeted the vicinity of medical facilities, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and ethical values, stressing that targeting health facilities is a reprehensible and unacceptable act.
The Ministry indicated that all hospitals in Aleppo Governorate are fully prepared, with medical staff mobilized and the necessary supplies and medications secured to handle any emergencies.
The Ministry of Health urged citizens to exercise extreme caution, stay away from windows and balconies, and remain in safe places as much as possible. It also stressed the importance of calling the emergency number “110” or going to the nearest health center in the event of any injury.
The ministry also stressed the importance of not spreading rumors and relying solely on official sources for accurate information.
The SDF continues to indiscriminately shell several residential neighborhoods in Aleppo, including al-Jamiliya and al-Suryan, with mortars and rocket launchers.
