The Syrian Ministry of Finance issued a decision imposing a strict precautionary seizure on the assets and facilities of businessman Abdullah Nizam and a wide network of his partners and family members, on charges related to money laundering and illicit enrichment, involving sums of money exceeding $475 million.
The decision included all members of his family (his wives, his minor and adult children, and his daughter Maryam).
Nizam is a Shiite cleric from Syria who holds several positions, including head of the Council of Scholars for the Followers of the Ahlulbayt School of Thought in Syria, and head of the Damascus branch of the Sayyida Ruqayya Complex affiliated with the University of Bilad al-Sham for Islamic Sciences.

According to the issued decision, the assets and properties of Abdullah Nizam and his associated network fall under several vital and strategic sectors, distributed as follows:
First: The Industrial and Production Sector
- Mushroom Production Plant (Homs Governorate): This is a large facility dedicated to exporting abroad, with revenues estimated in millions of dollars (registered in the name of Nabil Tayro).
- Cashew Nut Factory (Adra Industrial City): A facility dedicated to food processing industries. - Amanda Electrical Industries Company (Al-Kiswah): Specializing in the production of household electrical appliances (managed by Firas Nasser Al-Din and Ahmed Munther).
- Cosmetics and Perfume Import Company: Specializing in importing foreign brands, with an operational management office in Beirut (managed by Assem Ahmed Al-Wasiti).
Second: Real Estate and Hospitality Sector
- A real estate complex in Sayyida Zeinab: Includes a group of lands, buildings, and hotels (direct ownership and partnerships with Bassam Nizam, Hussam Arqoub, and Muhammad Fawaz).
- A traditional Arab house and investment land in Al-Muhajireen: 500 square meters, planned for conversion into a shopping mall.
- Large Airport Road land: A strategic property (historically belonging to the family of Osama bin Laden) later converted into an educational institution, "Al-Muhsinia School" (supervised by Faisal Ali).
Third: Education, Health, and Service Sector
- Al-Mumayizoun Private School (Homs): An educational institution registered in the name of his daughter, Maryam Nizam, and Nabil Tayro.
- Al-Amin Medical Equipment Company: A company specializing in medical supplies. - Central Emergency Pharmacy (Al-Muhajireen): Registered under the names of Maryam Nizam and Mahmoud Sharab.
- Beauty and Laser Center (Abu Rummaneh): Registered under the name of Abdullah Nizam's daughter (managed by Samir Sandian).
- Energy and Fitness Club (Imam Zain Al-Abidin neighborhood): Operated under a contract with a charitable organization.
Fourth: Financial and Movable Assets
- Bank Accounts: All balances and deposits in public and private banks.
- Shares and Shares: All shares in joint-stock or limited liability companies.
- Operating Assets: Including machinery, production lines, and vehicles belonging to these establishments.
Legal Note: The decision also included "management rights and returns," meaning that the seizure is not limited to ownership but extends to profits generated from operating these assets and the ability to control them.
