Aleppo: Curfew in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods begins at 3 PM

The Syrian Arab Army Operations Command stated that all SDF military positions within the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods are legitimate military targets for the Syrian Arab Army, following the group's significant escalation of attacks on Aleppo's neighborhoods and its perpetration of numerous massacres against civilians.

The Command added: "We urge our civilian population in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo to immediately distance themselves from the positions  of the YPG-led militants."

The Command announced two safe humanitarian corridors: the Al-Awarid Crossing and the Al-Zuhour Street Crossing, which are well-known to residents of the area, until 3:00 PM. It clarified that "the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo will be considered closed military zones after 3:00 PM today, and we reiterate to our civilian population the need to stay away from SDF positions."

The Command also announced a complete curfew in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo, effective 3:00 PM today.

The Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods are witnessing a large exodus of civilians due to the SDF's escalation, while the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Arab Army are working to secure the displaced. The Syrian Civil Defense stated that its teams began evacuating families trapped in their homes in several neighborhoods of Aleppo this morning. They are also working to secure the safe passage of families wishing to leave, transporting them to safer locations within the city at their request.

The Civil Defense explained that its teams are providing first aid to the sick and elderly upon their arrival at designated evacuation points in various Aleppo neighborhoods, and transporting them to hospitals for necessary treatment. They are also providing healthcare services to the sick, elderly, children, and women within the shelters where some families have been relocated at their own request due to the SDF's shelling of residential areas and the threat to the safety of residents.

Yesterday, a member of the Syrian Arab Army was killed and others were wounded when the SDF targeted army positions around the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo with drones. Additionally, three civilians, including two women, were killed, and approximately 15 others, including two children, sustained injuries of varying severity in SDF shelling of residential areas surrounding the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods, as well as other areas in the city.
