The Ministry of Defense's Media and Communications Department affirmed that the Syrian Arab Army's repeated granting of extensions, its deliberate approach to entering neighborhoods, and its opening of safe corridors to ensure the safe passage of residents away from any potential dangers, are all part of its commitment to the safety of civilians and preventing their use as leverage or human shields by armed groups affiliated with the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces).
In a statement to SANA, the Ministry of Defense's Media and Communications Department said: "In parallel, field data indicates that Syrian Arab Army forces, in cooperation with the relevant intelligence agencies, have detected the presence of armed groups within the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. These groups include outlaw elements, among them remnants of the former regime, elements linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and foreign elements."
The statement added that the army's actions are in support of the Internal Security Forces and law enforcement units, with the aim of establishing security, restoring normalcy, and enabling the return of state institutions to their functions. This will ensure the stability of the neighborhood and its full integration into the natural fabric of Aleppo.
