The Syrian army allowed Syria-PKK wing SDF militants to leave the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo on Saturday, heading towards the city of Tabqa in Raqqa province.
Sources in the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that the evacuation was carried out by bus after the fighters were besieged in a small area, following the army's control of the neighborhood and the securing of civilians.
The sources indicated that the fighters had been holed up inside one of the neighborhood's hospitals, using it as a military position, and had also been using medical personnel as human shields to impede the Syrian army's advance.
