Israeli occupation forces carry out new incursion in western Daraa countryside

Israeli occupation forces conducted a new military incursion early Saturday into the vicinity of the villages of Maariya and Abdeen in the Yarmouk Basin area, located in the western countryside of Daraa province.

According to Muwaffaq Mahmoud, the municipality head of Maariya and Abdeen villages, an occupying force of approximately 20 soldiers, supported by three Hilux vehicles and a military jeep, deployed in the area between the two villages. The force remained stationed from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. before withdrawing.

This incident follows a similar violation on Wednesday, when Israeli forces advanced into several areas in the southern Quneitra countryside. As previously reported, one force entered near the villages of Bariqa and Bir al-Kabbas, while another established a checkpoint in al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah and advanced briefly into al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah.

Israeli occupation forces continue to systematically violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, which include raids, arrests, land-clearing operations, and the harassment of civilians.

Syria reiterates its demand for the complete and unconditional withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory. It stresses that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are null, void, and without any legal effect under international law, calling upon the international community to assume its responsibilities and deter these ongoing violations.
