Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and his American counterpart, Donald Trump, discussed the latest developments in Syria and a number of regional issues during a phone call on Monday. They emphasized the importance of preserving the country's unity and independence, guaranteeing the rights of the Kurds, and continuing cooperation in the fight against ISIS.
The Syrian Presidency stated that both sides stressed their support for efforts aimed at achieving stability and the necessity of protecting the rights of the Kurdish component within the framework of the Syrian state.
The two presidents also agreed to strengthen joint coordination to confront ISIS and eliminate its threats, expressing their hope that Syria would move towards a new phase of strength, stability, and unity, enabling it to face regional and international challenges.
