Oil extraction begins from liberated fields: Syrian Petroleum

An official at the Syrian Petroleum Company confirmed that the company's technical teams have begun extracting oil from the recently liberated fields and transporting it to the Homs and Banias refineries as part of a comprehensive plan to bring these fields back online.

Safwan Sheikh Ahmad, the company's Director of Corporate Communications, explained in a statement to SANA on Saturday that the ongoing work aims to restore the fields to their original operational condition at the time of their liberation. He anticipated that production would reach approximately 100,000 barrels of oil per day within four months, which would positively impact the energy sector and support the national economy.

This comes after the Syrian Arab Army recently regained control of several oil fields in the Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor governorates, which were then handed over to the Syrian Petroleum Company for rehabilitation and reactivation.
