Jordanian King and Turkish President support Syria's efforts to maintain security, stability

King Abdullah II of Jordan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affirmed the importance of supporting Syria's efforts to preserve its security, stability, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The Jordanian News Agency reported that during their talks in Istanbul on Saturday, the King and the President expressed their keenness to enhance cooperation between Jordan, Turkey, and Syria, particularly in the transportation sector. They emphasized the necessity of preserving the sovereignty of all countries to achieve peace and stability in the region.

They stressed the need to ensure the implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza and to alleviate the humanitarian suffering by increasing the flow of relief aid and initiating reconstruction efforts. They also reiterated their complete rejection of unilateral measures against the Palestinians, annexation policies, and displacement that undermine the chances of achieving peace and stability, as well as any attempts to alter the historical and legal status of Jerusalem.

The King and the President affirmed their support for the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the necessity of achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

Furthermore, the Turkish president indicated his country's interest in increasing cooperation, exchanging expertise, and developing relations with Jordan, noting that the two countries will celebrate the 80th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year.

Earlier today, the Jordanian king arrived in Turkey at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, the latest regional developments, and possible efforts to support security and stability in the region.
