Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met on Monday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with US Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack.
The Foreign Ministry stated on its Telegram channel that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the meeting of political directors of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

Minister al-Shaibani and the head of the General Intelligence Directorate, Hussein al-Salama, arrived in Riyadh on Sunday to participate in the meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.
It is worth noting that the UN Security Council, during a session held on February 4 to discuss the dangers to international peace and security posed by terrorist acts, warned of the growing threat of the ISIS terrorist organization and its ability to adapt and expand. The Council stressed that confronting this evolving threat requires comprehensive international cooperation based on respect for international law and human rights.
