SDF transfers oil field equipment in Hasakah to Iraq

Reports carried by the Associated Press, citing field sources and energy sector workers in Hasakah province, indicate that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been conducting extensive transfers of heavy equipment and machinery from the Rmeilan oil fields toward northern Iraq.

The agency confirmed, based on information from technicians and workers at the Rmeilan Oil Company, that the transfers included strategic equipment such as large generators, specialized vehicles, oil storage tanks, and a giant 200-ton crane, which was seen moving in preparation for crossing the Semalka border crossing.

Targeting Strategic Fields

According to the sources, the evacuation and dismantling operations were not limited to the Rmeilan fields alone, but also affected other vital facilities in the northeastern Hasakah countryside, including:

- The Tell Adas fields.

- The Karachuk fields.

- The Suwaidiya station.

Warnings of "looting" resources

The Associated Press reported appeals from workers at these sites, calling for intervention to stop what they described as "the looting of equipment" and its removal from Syrian territory. They warned that stripping these fields of their infrastructure would lead to a complete paralysis of the region's energy sector and deprive Syrians of essential national resources.
