Presidential envoy discusses military and security integration with SDF leadership

Presidential envoy, Brig. Gen. Ziad al-Ayesh, held talks in Hasakah with SDF leader, Mazloum Abdi, in the presence of Hasakah Governor, Nour al-Din Ahmad and several military and security officials, to discuss mechanisms for integrating military and security institutions under the January 29 agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF.

Al-Ayesh said in a statement that the implementation phase includes integrating three military brigades into the Syrian Army’s 60th Division, alongside steps related to detainee files. He announced that procedures had begun to release 60 prisoners who have no criminal charges or proven links to unlawful activities.

The presential envoy also confirmed plans to reopen access routes to the city of Hasakah from five directions, excluding the M4 international highway until full security measures are completed.

Specialized committees have been formed to facilitate the safe return of displaced residents, while a technical and engineering team will oversee the transfer of the Rmeilan and Suwaydiyah oil fields.

Al-Ayesh was appointed presidential envoy to implement the January 29 agreement, which includes a ceasefire arrangement, phased military and administrative integration, deployment of state security forces in central Hasakah and Qamishli, and the transfer of civil institutions, crossings and public facilities to state administration.
