Saudi Arabia intercepted a drone attack targeting the Ras Tanura refinery, the Kingdom’s defense ministry said on Wednesday.
“An attempted attack targeted the Ras Tanura refinery, and preliminary assessments indicate that the attack was carried out by a drone, resulting in no damage,” the defense ministry said on X.
An official source at the Ministry of Energy said there has been no disruption to supplies after the attempted attack, the Saudi Press Agency.
The Ras Tanura oil refinery in the country’s east was also targeted on Monday by two drones that were intercepted, Defense Ministry Spokesperson Turki al-Maliki told Al Arabiya at the time.
Al-Maliki said that falling debris from the intercepted drones caused a “limited” fire.
