Al-Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to President al-Sharaa, along with a message affirming the Kingdom’s support for Syria and its commitment to strengthening the historic brotherly relationship between the two nations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, Minister of Defense Major General Murhaf Abu Qasra, and Head of the General Intelligence Service Hussein Salameh held an expanded session of talks with the Jordanian delegation. The discussions focused on ways to enhance bilateral relations and address regional developments.

The two delegations touched upon defense and security cooperation, affirming the continued collaboration in combating terrorism and the smuggling of drugs and weapons through the joint working mechanisms established by both countries.

Ministers al-Shaibani and Safadi expressed satisfaction with the continuous development of brotherly ties. They discussed practical steps to follow up on bilateral achievements in vital sectors, including economy, trade, transport, water, energy, defense, and security.

The ministers tasked liaison officials from both Foreign Ministries to prepare for the second session of the High Coordination Council in Amman soon, following up on the council’s first meeting held on May 20, 2025.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister reaffirmed the Kingdom’s absolute support for the Syrian government’s efforts in reconstruction, recovery, and development on foundations that guarantee Syria’s unity, security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens.

The meeting addressed the dangerous escalation in the region and Iranian aggressions against Arab states, emphasizing diplomacy as the path to security. Both ministers condemned the “unjustified Iranian attacks” on Jordanian territory and the brotherly Arabian Gulf states.

The two ministers renewed their condemnation of repeated Israeli attacks and airstrikes on Syria, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law and Syrian sovereignty. They characterized these acts as a breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and demanded an immediate Israeli withdrawal to the disengagement lines.

The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultation at all bilateral and regional levels.
