Aleppo airport marks revolution anniversary with symbolic screen flight

The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport displayed a symbolic flight named “Syrian Revolution” on flight information screens at Aleppo International Airport on March 18, marking the anniversary of the revolution’s outbreak.

Omar al-Hosari, head of the authority, said in a post on X on Wednesday that the image carried national significance.

“The image sums up the story of a nation. What happened was not fleeting, but the beginning of a sovereign path with no turning back. It is not just a memory, but an ongoing journey of a people who chose to write their own history by their own hand, toward dignity and the Syria we deserve,” al-Hosari said.

He said the anniversary recalls the sacrifices of the Syrian people, who gave what they held most dear in pursuit of freedom and dignity, and honors all those who sacrificed so that the banner of freedom remains raised over Syria.

The authority had also announced recently the operation of several Syrian Airlines flights from Aleppo International Airport to a number of regional destinations, as part of ongoing operational assessments of the airspace.
