The Internal Security Forces announced on Thursday the arrest of several wanted individuals and outlaws for their involvement in targeting security and military sites, as well as seizing and concealing quantities of weapons and ammunition.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a post on its Telegram channel that “The Internal Security Forces carried out a precise security operation targeting the hideouts of several wanted individuals and outlaws, due to their involvement in targeting security and military sites, in addition to seizing and concealing quantities of weapons and ammunition.”
“The operation resulted in the arrest of Sakher Suhail Mahla and his brother, Haidera Suhail Mahla. A quantity of various weapons and ammunition was seized from them, including assault rifles, machine guns, and rocket launchers, in addition to the confiscation of two motorcycles and other material evidence related to criminal activities,” the Ministry said.
It explained that the operation also resulted in the discovery and seizure of a fully equipped workshop for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), containing industrial equipment and raw materials used in preparing explosives.
The ministry confirmed that investigations revealed the detainees’ connection to organized criminal groups involved in the trafficking and distribution of narcotics, arms trafficking and smuggling, as well as their involvement in kidnapping and armed robbery targeting civilians for financial extortion.”
