Five killed in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon

Beirut, April 13 (SANA) Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted multiple towns in southern Lebanon from Sunday evening until Monday morning, killing five people and causing significant destruction, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

The agency reported that a young man was killed in a morning strike on Nabatieh al-Fawqa, while another person was killed in a midnight raid on Sir al-Gharbiya. Two more were killed in a strike targeting the town of Shukin in the Nabatieh district.

In Bazouriyeh, nine consecutive airstrikes until 5 a.m. killed one person and injured others, as search operations continued for missing individuals. The strikes caused extensive damage to residential buildings, including a public school.

Artillery shelling also targeted the towns of al-Haniyeh, al-Qalila, al-Mansouri, and Bayt al-Sayyad in the Tyre district. The town of Zibqin was hit by artillery and white phosphorus munitions, according to NNA.

Earlier on Sunday, an Israeli strike on the town of Tafahata in the Sidon district killed nine people and injured 13 others, in the context of ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2, following attacks attributed to Hezbollah.
