680 Syrian pilgrims depart Damascus airport on first Hajj flights

A total of 680 Syrian pilgrims departed Damascus International Airport for Saudi Arabia on the first day of Hajj flights, traveling aboard two flights, according to the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority.

Mustafa Khairallah, head of the media office at the authority, told SANA on Sunday that airport teams worked to provide the necessary services and facilities for pilgrims from the moment they arrived at the airport until boarding procedures were completed.

He said the measures aimed to ensure an organized and comfortable travel experience for pilgrims heading to perform Hajj rituals in the Holy Lands.

Khairallah added that feedback from pilgrims and their families had been positive, seeing that as an incentive to continue improving services provided during the Hajj season. He noted that serving the pilgrims is both an honor and a national and humanitarian responsibility proudly undertaken by the staff of the Civil Aviation and Air Transport.

The first flights carrying Syrian pilgrims departed Saturday from Damascus International Airport amid organizational, service and health measures implemented by the relevant authorities to facilitate travel procedures and pilgrim care.
