Syria named partner country for next Arab-German Business Forum

Berlin, June 19 (SANA)    The Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced Friday that Syria has been selected as the partner country for the next edition of the Arab-German Business Forum, a move that reflects growing economic engagement and renewed integration into Arab-European cooperation frameworks, according to a statement carried by SANA.

The announcement was made during the current forum’s activities in Berlin, attended by Syria’s charge d’affaires in Berlin, Mohammad Baraa Shukri, along with a wide gathering of Arab and international economic and diplomatic representatives.

Syrian businessman and member of the Arab-German Chamber, Mohammad Haykal, told SANA that the move was welcomed by both Arab and German sides and represents a significant step in restoring Syria to its natural and leading position on the region’s economic map.

Haykal said coordination and preparations for the next edition would be carried out through official channels in coordination with the chamber and Arab partners, noting the tangible support Arab brothers and regional partners are providing to Syria in its new economic and development path.

He expressed confidence that Syria’s participation next year as “partner country” would establish a new phase of economic openness, directly contributing to strengthening regional and international partnerships and attracting vital investment.

The 29th Arab-German Business Forum, held in Berlin from June 17 to 19 under the theme “Beyond Transformation: Intelligence, Innovation, and Impact,” has featured increasing Syrian participation in sessions and discussions on investment opportunities and building cooperation with German companies, amid growing international interest in the Syrian market’s potential.
