Internal Security Forces arrested Youssef Ahmed Khaled, wanted on charges related to war crimes, during a high-quality and precise security operation, as described by the Ministry of Interior.
The Ministry explained that initial investigations revealed the detainee's participation in military operations alongside the forces of the former regime against rebel-held areas. He was also implicated in the burning of homes belonging to displaced persons and appeared in videos alongside the bodies of victims during the liberation battles.
The Ministry confirmed that the detainee has been referred to the competent judiciary to complete the legal procedures against him. It noted that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to pursue those involved in crimes and violations committed against Syrians and bring them to justice.
