President of the Supreme Constitutional Court Dr. Issam al-Khalif and the court’s members took the constitutional oath before President Ahmad al-Sharaa at the People’s Palace in Damascus on Saturday, officially assuming their duties.
On July 7, President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 149 of 2026 appointing Issam Khaled al-Khalif as president of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
Under the decree, six members were also appointed to the Supreme Constitutional Court.
