President al-Sharaa appoints new national security and intelligence officials

President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued a series of decisions appointing senior officials to key national security and intelligence posts.

Under the decisions, Interior Minister Eng. Anas Khattab was appointed director of the National Security Office, in addition to his current duties.

Hussein al-Salamah was appointed deputy director of the National Security Office, while Mulham al-Shantout was named assistant interior minister for security affairs.

Abdul Qader Tahan was also appointed head of the General Intelligence Service.
