Israeli occupation forces raid southern Quneitra, set up military checkpoint

Quneitra, July 20 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces entered several villages in the southern Quneitra countryside on Monday and established a military checkpoint west of Saida al-Golan village, SANA’s reporter said.

The reporter said a convoy of seven military vehicles entered through the Tel Abu al-Ghithar gate, with five vehicles heading toward the village of al-Razaniyah, while two others took up positions west of the village of al-Hanout.

The reporter added that the occupation forces established a military checkpoint west of the village of Saida al-Golan, where they stopped and searched passersby while drones flew overhead.

On Sunday evening, Israeli occupation forces targeted the vicinity of Abu Rajm farm, which belongs to the village of Saida al-Golan, with four artillery shells that landed in nearby agricultural land without causing any injuries.

Israel has continued its violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests, land bulldozing and shelling targeting civilians.

Syria has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that all Israeli measures are null and void under international law and have no legal effect. It has also urged the international community to uphold its responsibilities and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
